We all have questions, here are some frequently asked questions.

What do I need to do to have an idea made?

To get the ball rolling all you really need to do is email me or fill out my Custom Creation Form and let me know what you are interested in. I can help you figure out the rest if the simple steps doesn’t seem to fit your project needs. I can also let you know if it is a project I can or can’t do right off the bat.

Where do I get images?

Images help me understand what you want. A picture is worth a thousand words so why not use them.

From online you can easily just send me the URL/ web address link to images to help explain what you want. Even if what you want doesn’t exist you can show me what the colors, textures, theme, or even certain aspects, props, or parts of images.Often the more image the better. Please also give me information about the images and let me know what specific parts of the image you want me to pay attention to. (Example: you send me an image of a space ship for a cowboy outfit. list that you really like the blinking lights and the mechanical aspects of the space craft that you want a steampunk tool belt to look like)

Who Keeps the rights?

All ideas or custom creations are legally owned by the original creator. Copyright laws state that all rights to the creations and derivatives and their duplications are held by the original creator. While copyright laws don’t protect ideas, by the nature of custom creations and sharing of the ideas I do respect the rights of the ideas shared to me through custom creations. This means that if the idea is original and yours, you own it by my standards but not by legal standards. Even if I help you flush out all the ideas and ad form to your concepts I let you keep the rights much like a ghostwriter.

If the project you want done has a copyright that you do not own (meaning you do not own the rights to duplicate) there is room for creation of artwork or ideas as a parody. This is often seen in cosplay costumes or fan art where things are not 100% taken as a carbon copy and the original copyright holder is credited. Fan art and costumes are often not a large legal issue as long as they are not mass produced, or plagiarized for money. I hold the right to refuse to create or recreate copyrighted work. If the opportunity is there, please support the original artist/creator.

For inventions and processes, these rights fall under patents. Patents can cost thousands of dollars and a lot of time to get. I refuse to recreate patented work that is not or can not be proven to be held by the individual or company submitting the work. On the other hand I am more than happy to help create inventions for those that have interest in patenting their own creations or inventions similar to those already patented.

I want to have something I saw online, but I want it cheaper than what the other guy has it listed as.

While I understand the need to keep a budget and have what you want, there is always a balance between quality and costs. With this scenario there is also balance of getting what you want and how you want it and respecting the original creator’s rights to what you want.

I would often suggest that if you see something you want by another artist, it’s exactly what you want and your able to afford it, just buy it. Even if that item is a little more than what you want to pay for, you are giving them respect for being the original creator of that item.

On the other hand, if there is something you want changed, you need it cheaper and understand that with a cost difference there may be a quality difference, or if you want it a higher quality than what you had found online than I am able to help create it for you.

If your not sure, feel free to ask if I’m willing to do such a project and/or an estimate.
